Major in Public Policy, Minor in African & African American Studies

I am Demetrist Booker, a Public Policy Major & African American Studies Minor. I serve as the Vice President of the Black Student Alliance and involved in the Black Pre-Law Society as well. I also conduct service as a Spring 2025 initiate of the Kappa Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. I am interested in sustainable community development and plan to attend law school to advocate for equitable treatment within the law. In my free time, I enjoy exploring Durham’s many restaurants and watching Duke sports.

Favorite Class: Dr. Rachel Gelfand; Women in the Political Process. Occurring during the 2024 presidential election, the class was closely tied to both local & national affairs and included a service component that allowed us to participate in voter registration drives & social media campaigns.
