Bennie Pennington, B.A. 2005

VP of Embedded Banking - KeyBank

2005 Major: African & African American Studies; minor in Chemistry

How has being an African & African American Studies graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"I have found that being well rounded in a variety of topics help me to understand my clients and my co-workers better."

What advice would you give students in Duke's African & African American Studies programs?

"Study what motivates you. Then in most careers, as long as you get your foot in the door you can rise up. My degree has nothing to do with Financial Technology, but I got my foot in the door and showed business acumen and I rose quickly."
