I graduated with an A.B. degree in History from Princeton University in 2017. My senior thesis focused on Princeton University’s connection to slavery. I am excited to further this research while at Duke. As a first year PhD candidate in the History department, I am focused on the history of slavery and its connections to colleges and universities. This work involves tracing how these institutions tried to answer “the slavery question,” and how such answers manifested themselves into tangible actions to further (or frustrate) the slave trade.
