What role does trans studies play in a moment of widespread anti-trans political attack, disinformation, and even conspiracy theory? What is the relation between trans political movements and trans academic insitutionalization in the wake of over 100 pieces of anti-trans legislation in the US, or coordinated anti-trans violence in the UK, Hungary, and Poland? This seminar will explore the urgency and challenges of crititcal trans study under the immense pressure of the historical present.
